“I think Redwood is a brilliant setting. My son has been joining in imaginary play and lots of wonderful activities including spots and cooking. He has enjoyed visits eg from the ambulance and police and as been sharing those experiences with us at home. His teachers are very passionate about what they do and feed the children’s imagination. My son was fascinated by the fact that one of them came to Redwood with a magic bean which had grown into a beanstalk by the next morning!
Throughout his time at Redwood I have noticed great progress in the way my son engages with other children and he has formed strong friendships. He is much more confident in joining in different activities and speaking his mind. He’s also developed his imagination and creativity, which has been wonderful to witness.”

As a parent, I am very well informed about what has happened at the setting day to day, how my child is doing and we feel included and valued as parents. The staff always make time to speak, nothing is too much to ask.”

The team are warm, friendly and approachable and have been on hand with advice when I have needed it.
I have to give a special mention to Ella’s teaching of British Sign Language to the children which is simply fantastic. Not only has my son learnt so many signs but so have I and it’s been a lovely thing to do alongside him thanks to the weekly videos shared on the family app. Friends and family are so impressed when my son signs the alphabet as easily as he can say it.”

“My son spoke at length about the police one day, so Sarah organised a police visit. The staff listen to the children’s interests and use them as a springboard for their learning. His confidence and communication skills have grown so much, for example he will often show us how to sign a word or phrase. His social skills have developed beautifully, which was a concern for us after COVID. Safeguarding is highly effective, and as such we have felt very confident in sending our son there.”

“Every day our daughter happily skips into school where we know she will be safe and have an active day of learning. We love how the curriculum gives the children real hands on experiences – from learning how to stay healthy through regular cooking, to PE with Usports, learning about the life cycle of a butterfly through watching a caterpillar change to a chrysalis to a butterfly (a sequence she could still talk to me about today despite having learnt this weeks ago) and then the giant beanstalk that had grown in the classroom. We have been more than happy to send our daughter to Redwood because we know she is happy, safe and making a great start in her learning journey.”

“My daughter settled in so well when she first started, home from home care from the staff, making her feel at ease and was not bothered about me leaving, occasionally even thinking I had arrived early to collect her as she has been having so much fun the day has flown! She loves the activities that Redwood do, from cooking, usports, to learning new sign language. She is constantly showing me her new ways of learning to do something. A lovely set up. I am sad to see her leave such a lovely place with amazing staff but I’m glad she has had the best school start with them.”

“Redwood is such a friendly preschool and have the children’s interests at the forefront of what they do. The children are always well looked after, my daughter always comes home excited with new artwork she has designed. They also do lots of cooking and the best bit is all the sign language they are learning, what other three and four year olds can sign the rainbow song?
Finally the staff are all very approachable and adapt to all the children’s needs, which I have seen first hand when I have been in to the sessions that parents have been invited to.”
